Visit Mammoth Lakes, a breathtaking destination in the heart of the Eastern Sierra. Here at Viewpoint Condos, we believe adventure and outdoor challenges can truly change lives.
That’s why we are thrilled to partner with Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra (DSES), a remarkable non-profit organization dedicated to providing adaptive sports and therapeutic outdoor recreation for people with disabilities.
Together, we strive to create unforgettable experiences for individuals of all abilities in this beautiful mountain town.
About Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra
DSES operates under the belief that the exhilaration of outdoor challenges has the power to transform lives. With a passionate Board of Directors overseeing day-to-day operations alongside dedicated volunteers and professional staff, DSES offers a wide range of programs for people of all ages with physical and/or intellectual disabilities. Whether it’s alpine skiing, snowboarding, road cycling, mountain biking, kayaking, paddle boarding, rock climbing, hiking, fishing, or camping, DSES ensures that everyone can enjoy the great outdoors in the Eastern Sierra all year round.
As the snow melts and summer embraces the region, DSES transitions to teaching an array of sports throughout the Eastern Sierra. From thrilling watersports to invigorating mountain climbing and everything in between, there’s something for everyone. DSES offers state-of-the-art adaptive equipment and specialized teaching methodologies, allowing individuals with any type of disability to achieve their outdoor recreation goals. Their programs not only offer year-round outdoor sports and activities but also create inspiring challenges, provide expert instruction, and uplift the community to comfortably accommodate people with disabilities.

Programs
At DSES, there are incredible opportunities for outdoor adventures in Mammoth Lakes. During the summer, you can take advantage of daily lessons in a variety of sports, as well as participate in specific camps. Please note that this summer season may be slightly different due to the extended snowmelt from our record-breaking year. However, summer activities are planned to kickstart on June 17th, as conditions allow. Stay flexible as areas and activities become available. From thrilling watersports to road biking, adaptive mountain climbing, and invigorating hikes, summer is an incredible time to explore the wonders of the Eastern Sierra.
During the winter months, DSES gears up for alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, and more. Their team utilizes advanced adaptive techniques, specialized equipment, and teaching techniques tailored to each student’s abilities to help athletes achieve their goals on the mountain. From mono skis to bi-skis and snow sliders, they have all the equipment ready to ensure a thrilling experience for all!
Events
One of the exciting Mammoth Lakes events hosted by Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra is Springtacular. This event aims to inspire kids and adults with cognitive and intellectual disabilities through a week of skiing and riding. For $500, participants will enjoy four days of individual and group instruction, lift tickets, equipment rentals, a commemorative t-shirt, lunches, and an awards banquet. This program is open to all skill levels, and scholarships are available upon request. Save the date for April 23rd to 26th, and get ready to embrace the thrill of the slopes with Springtacular!
